I made my way back to Greece for the first time in 20 years, where I taught a graduate level finance and strategy class in Athens in 2003 and 2004. That gig allowed me the opportunity to explore the city and the surrounding area on my off days. While the antiquities still stand and much of it seemed familiar, this time I was seeing it through the eyes of friends discovering the charm of the city for the first time. After a few days exploring Athens and a side trip to Hydra, we made our way to Corfu where we launched a weeklong sailing adventure on the Ionian Sea. The time spent sailing the crystal blue waters with amazing coastal views at every turn was restorative and exactly what I needed after a hectic year. We were blessed with good weather and were in the hands of a charming and experienced local captain who introduced us to some of his favorite places. His personal perspective and insights, along with his willingness to let us sail whenever the winds allowed, set the course for a very memorable holiday.
